Ayelet Zurer
Ayelet Zurer is one of Israel's most
highly regarded actresses. Her birthplace is in Tel Aviv, and first was noticed
by Hollywood when she was enlisted by Steven Spielberg in her first character
in English, Eric Bana's character's spouse in the Oscar(r) nominated film
Munich (2005). Zurer is an American actress that has appeared in Studio films,
including Sony Pictures' Vantage Point which starred Dennis Quaid (with William
Hurt) Samuel Goldwyn's Fugitive pieces alongside Stephen Dillane, Paul
Schrader’s Adam Resurrected with Jeff Goldblum and Willem Dafoe. Ron Howard's
Angeles and Demons opposite Tom Hanks. Darling Companion is a Lawrence Kasdan
ensemble cast which includes Diane Keaton and Kevin Kline. Warner Bros. Man Of
Steel along with Russell Crow. The actress filmed Rodrigo Garcia, Last days in
the desert, which she starred in alongside Ewan McGregor while waiting for the
release of the film The Last Knights by the Japanese director Kazuaki Kiriya,
who is also starring Clive Owen. Recently, she won the Gold Nymph Award as
Outstanding actress in the Drama Series at the 54th Festival Television of
Monte-Carlo. This was for her performance in "Hostages". Ayelet has
been awarded the Israeli Film And Television Academy Award for her leading role
in Nina's Tragedies. Ayelet also won nominations for her work in the films Only
Dogs Run Free, The Dybbuk from the Holy Apple Field, Desperado, and Rutenberg.
She also won the Haifa International Film Festival critic award and also an
honorary star on Haifa's "film boulevard" for her international and
regional accomplishments. Zurer was also honored with the Israeli Television
Academy Award for her performance on "In Treatment" internationally
acclaimed TV series, which has been made available for American television by
HBO. In 2014, she was nominated apposite herself in the year's best drama
"Shtisel" however she was awarded best actress in a drama for her
performance as a brilliant surgeon faced with the dilemma of life and death in
Hostages and was later sold to BBC4 and Canal Plus, and as an original format
for the American ABC. She is the "face " of one of Israel's most
renowned women's fashion companies- Golbary. She is a producer and writer.
Ayelet has developed a few of her projects in Israel, the US and expressed an
interest in working internationally alongside directors from around the world,
including unknown writers/directors.
