born in Los Angeles in 1970. Shortly after her birth, her parents relocated to
Dallas, Texas. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School, Performing
and Visual Arts, located within the Arts District. She later earned a BFA
degree from Stephens College in acting and she also attended the British
American Drama Academy. She also spent six years at the respected Dallas
Theatre Center and one year with that theater's Encore Company. She started her
acting career in the theaters prior to her major screen debut. Her stage
credits include "As You Like It", “A Funny thing happened on the Road
to the Forum" "Measure for Measure", and "Chicago"
along with as numerous other productions. She was the standout actor in Michael
Cristofer's HBO television show Gia (1998) in which she starred alongside
Angelina Jolie. This performance earned her the respect of viewers and critics
alike. Elizabeth showed off her charismatic acting skills after the success of
Frequency (2001 featuring Dennis Quaid) and Neil LaBute's scifi time travel
drama Nurse Betty ((2000) with Rene Zellweger). With a variety of credits in
the theater, television series and movies, Elizabeth Mitchell continues to give
her best in the field of acting. In the course of the filming of Frequency
(2000) the actress broke her nose. In 1994, she filmed a Hertz Rent-A-Car
commercial but "they pulled it due to the O.J. thing." In 1995, she
lived with her boyfriend David Lee Smith (ex-Brent on the soap One Life to Live
(1968)) on Manhattan's Upper West Side. Parents are real estate and tax
attorneys who own their own firm that is located just 5 blocks away from their
home in Dallas. After a long time in the theatre as Rosalind, she returned to
the U.S. after having been in Europe for a few months. Her parents relocated to
Dallas, Texas shortly after she was born in LA, in 1970. She attended Booker T.
Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts located in the Arts
District of downtown Dallas, Texas. In 1991 she graduated from Stephens College
with a Fine Arts degree. She was in Man and Boy (2002) together with Ioan
Gruffudd. It was telecast on BBC 1 TV in March 2002.
